Firstly, we pride ourselves on being an extremely welcoming and inclusive club.
The excellent facilities at Coombe Dingle and dedicated coaching staff we offer (consisting of both professional coaches and senior players from within the club) will give you the perfect opportunity to improve any aspect of your game and challenge for a place in one of our five men’s and women’s teams.
For those of you who have played a high standard of hockey before, the professionalism and dedication that the club has displayed over the last few years has helped both the men’s and women's teams reach the extremely high level they currently achieve.
Both the men’s and ladies' 1st XI currently compete at the highest tier of the BUCS competition (Wednesday afternoons) whilst on Saturdays, teams compete in local leagues. The Men's teams compete in the GoCrea8 Hockey League and the Ladies' compete in the West Clubs Women's Hockey League.
This year, the Men’s 1st XI will be competing in the BUCS South A league on wednesdays and the Conference West on Saturdays. The Ladies' 1st XI will also be on the path for promotion to National League, having achieved this two seasons ago.
The Men's and Ladies' club offers multiple training sessions each week, with most players attending at least two per week. Alongside this, we have strength and conditioning gym sessions aimed at improving and maintaining fitness levels.
The level of training you choose to undertake depends entirely upon you and the level that you wish to play at.
Off the pitch, we pride ourselves on being one of the most socially active clubs in the university. We are particularly renowned for our mixed socials every Wednesday. These are not to be missed!
Until then, cheers!
