University of Bristol hosted University of Birmingham for the clubs first ‘Friday Night Lights’ game of the season. Bristol started the game well, going 2-0 up after a short corner from Rufus McNaught-Barrington and a brilliant counter attacking goal finished off by Kincaid Ingram. Birmingham got a goal goal back within two minutes of the break, only for Bristol to respond well with Josh Godfrey scoring with the last touch of the first half. 3-1 Bristol at HT.
Bristol made it 4-1 through Rufus before a big response from Birmingham as they got it back to 4-4 with 10 minutes to play. Chances came and went for both sides, before Birmingham won a short on the final whistle. Agonisingly for Bristol, Birmingham scores to take the 5-4 win and all 3 points... a fantastic game of Hockey and I know the guys are looking forward to responding against Oxford and Havant this week!
